SECTION-1
➢Learn lesson-2 only the மெய் எழுத்துகள்.
➢ Learn lesson-3 பாடல் 'காந்தி தாத்தா’. Song will be asked in class &
marks will be given based on that.
➢ Write மெய் எழுத்துகள் once in the notebook.
➢ Write your name in Tamil in next 3 lines of handwriting book on first page.
➢ Reading list & Reading log:
➢ Reading list is given below and is also present at the front of the
handbook.
➢ After reading, fill the details in the reading log, get parents sign and bring it
to school next week, to get teachers sign.
➢ Students, practice reading with correct pronunciation.
➢ Reading list : மெய் எழுத்துகள்
க், ங், ச், ஞ், ட், ண், த், ந், ப், ம், ய், ர்
ல், வ், ழ், ள், ற், ன்.
➢ Students, learn a word and its meaning for any மெய்எழுத்து to tell in
class next week.
SECTION-2
➢ Conversation: Role-model
➢ Students show a picture and talk about their role-model in Tamil. Role models can be their parents, grand-parents, friends, relations, politicians,
leaders, freedom fighters, kings, sports person etc.
1) Who is their role-model?
2) What quality does the kid like in that person?
• This can also be an interactive talk between the student and a
parent/friend.... One person asking the question and student answering in
Tamil.
For example:
1) இது யாரு?
2) உனக்கு அேங்ககிட்ட என்ன கராம்ப பிடிக்கும்?
• Do the conversation, activity and submit the video to the teacher before the
next week's class.
SECTION-3
➢ Prep for Project-1 - ”எனக்குப் பிடித்த இடம்”(My favorite place).
Due on Week-6
• Ask kids to bring a photo or post-card or they can draw & color or cut &
paste the picture of their favorite place which they visited in a construction
paper.
• In class, they need to tell
1) Name of the place & Whom they traveled with
2) Why is it their favorite place and
3) One interesting fact about that place.
• Marks will be given based on their picture & how clearly kids tell the
sentences in Tamil in class.
• Optional: Kids could bring a toy/magnet/key-chain....related to that place.

Parents please download “Grade 1 Student handbook 2025” from California Tamil Academy website. If any issue, contact the Teacher or Principal
fill the details in the reading log, get parents sign and bring it to school next week
Students bring a set(2 pieces) of any colored kerchiefs/bandana/tissue paper/ribbons for next week class(Week-3)
